Rich tastings in the quality assurance label's 11 towns and villages. And a splendid surprise for us: our Gavi is the most appreciated one: “ Impressive, vibrant, floral notes, officinal herbes gets along with citrus very well ripe. Graphite hint and lime in the after taste end a complex savor. Score 94/100. "
Slow Wine, the 11th edition of Slow Food's wine guide, recognises our commitment to quality with two awards. La Raia's winery receives the "Bottiglia di Slow Wine 2021", given to wineries that deliver their best across their whole range, with excellent average quality in every tasting. Gavi DOCG Pisé 2017 is named "Top wine - everyday wine": our cru is rewarded for its excellent organoleptic quality and its ability to capture in the glass the character of its land, history and environment. The guide will be in bookshops on 14 October, after its presentation at Milano Wine Week 2020.
Before it even reaches our tables, Gavi DOCG 2019 is already getting people talking. Cook, the Corriere della Sera supplement devoted to food, wine and their protagonists, features La Raia's biodynamic Gavi DOCG 2019 in its Wine Stories column: "a fresh white with a fuller finish, to drink with aperitifs, first courses and light main courses", made according to "biodynamic farming principles and no chemicals".
Over 15 years ago Giorgio Rossi Cairo began to imagine La Raia. Today there are many other initiatives over the winery. Ivan Carvalho explains them in an excellent way.
