Locanda La Raia, MICHELIN Green Star 2025, is located in Gavi, a small region between the upper Monferrato and lower Piedmont, nestled amidst the vineyards, pastures and woods of La Raia, a biodynamic estate covering 180 hectares.
You will discover a hospitality made up of unsuspected details, relaxed rhythms and harmony with nature, in a landscape uniquely rich in varied environments.
Once a post station for travellers, Locanda La Raia is now a relais of twelve rooms and suites, each one different from the other. The careful choice of natural colours and materials, the antique 17th-century Piedmontese furniture combined with contemporary design objects, the family paintings and the ever-present flowers from the garden make this large house an authentic place, an interpreter of the discreet beauty of this territory.
The original structure, with arches, vaults and large windows overlooking the vineyards, has been maintained and enhanced by reserving a large space for the light coming in from the hills. Every room of the Locanda, from the lounge to the dining room, dialogues with the surrounding landscape: the woods, fields and vineyards of a unique corner of Gavi. A garden of aromatic herbs welcomes guests, while a more extensive garden, created by the French Coloco team, collaborators of landscape architect Gilles Clément, is rich in local essences and fades into the rows of Cortese vines that surround the Locanda.
The days have the rhythm of long walks in La Raia area, following the itineraries of wine, art and biodiversity, discovering our biodynamic wines and the works that internationally renowned artists have created in dialogue with the landscape of this corner of Gavi.

Locanda invites its photo-enthusiast guests to walk through the vineyards, woods and meadows accompanied by our guide specialised in biodiversity and take pictures that tell the story of this landscape. You can then send us your favourite images from among those you have taken: we will choose one that we will print and display inside the Locanda and on our website. This experience includes: one night for two people, picnic basket to taste among the Borgo’s Cortese vineyards, the Locanda's aperitif, three-course à la carte dinner created by Tommaso Arrigoni, access to the SPA with hammam, sauna and temperature-controlled indoor and outdoor pool.
